Happy New Year to all and I hope your 2025 is off to a great start.
It's official! I am honored to be your 4th Barnstable district State Representative. It was very special to share inauguration day with family and friends and celebrate with my new colleagues. It's been a very busy few weeks already as we meet State House staff, prepare bills to file and hold meetings with our colleagues and community. |

Academy for New Legislators |
|
In mid-December, I joined fellow newly elected officials at the Academy for New Legislators, which was hosted at UMass Amherst in December. This informative training provided critical information about the process of legislating, and a clear understanding of what to expect as a state official. The incoming class of 2025 was able to connect with existing leaders and staff which was a great learning experience. |

Centers for History and Culture in Orleans |
|
I was invited to speak at the annual meeting of the Centers for History and Culture in Orleans (Orleans Historical Society). Having worked with the CHO board on their expansion efforts many years ago, it was an honor to be back in the beautifully restored and landmark Meetinghouse. There are many events and activities happening at the Meetinghouse and I encourage folks to visit to see all they have done in recent years and to learn about their future expansion plans. |

|
Please join me in welcoming Legislative Aide Gracyn Rountree to the 4th Barnstable team! Here we are in the "bullpen" area where new reps and staff are initially seated at the State House.
Gracyn grew up spending her summers in South Yarmouth until her family moved to the Cape full time. She graduated from Cape Cod Academy in 2017, then Trinity College in 2021 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. She first joined the House of Representatives as former Representative Sarah Peake’s legislative aide, under whom she worked for 3 years. Gracyn currently resides in Osterville.
